Sim Drain
The SIM DRAIN unites the characteristics of a silicone drain with a fibrin and coagulate absorbing system.

- A single-lumen, radiopaque, medical-grade silicone tube with microperforations at the distal end houses a special, highly capillary, multi-filament textile cord (surgical silk) and a polymeric Y-connector (MBS) at the proximal end. This allows two separate access points to the internal lumen of the silicone tube: one for the multi-filament cord and one for any suction devices.
- A double connector is attached to one of the two ports of the Y-connector. This connector consists of two tubes: the first (the one that connects to the Y-connector) is made of medical-grade silicone, and the second (which connects to the first tube) is made of low-density polyethylene. The other port of the Y-connector, through which the surgical silk filament is introduced, has a vinyl elastomer cap (yellow cap) that protects the filament.
- To limit the potential for drainage lumen occlusion and ensure proper drainage of organic fluids from the operated area, SIM Drain uses two components: a medical-grade radiopaque silicone tube with micro-perforations at the distal end and a special multi-filament textile cord with high capillary flow.
- The presence of the multi-filament cord offers two major advantages: it delays the natural occlusion that drainage devices normally experience, and it allows free flow to be restored while leaving the drain in place, without painful repercussions for the patient, by easily removing the multi-filament cord.
- The multi-filament cord is made of surgical silk for its non-fraying and smooth properties.
